How it Works
Laser hair removal eliminates the production of hair through the use of laser energy. The effect of the laser is to cause energy absorption along the hair follicle while sparing the skin and surrounding tissue. As some of the hair follicles are in a “resting phase” (telogen) it often requires multiple treatments to achieve permanent hair reduction. Three to six treatments spaced 1-2 months apart are usually needed, although more treatments are occasionally necessary to reach complete hair removal. We have the latest in laser hair removal technology at SMAC. The most common areas treated are axilla (armpits), face, bikini and legs and for men – backs and chest. These devices are excellent for treating darker skin patients with facial or body ingrown hairs. Do not be confused with inexpensive laser hair removal places that have shoddy and potentially dangerous technology.
