Question
Question: I have horrible athlete's foot and no matter how many times I treat it with over-the-counter treatments, it never goes away. Are there any treatments that offer a more permanent solution, or is it something that I'm going to be dealing with forever?
Answer: There are stronger prescription creams and there are also oral anti-fungal pills that are useful. It is also important to replace shoes that might be carrying the fungus and to use anti-fungal powders which help reduce moisture. It's also important to make sure the feet are as dry as possible during the day and to make sure the feet are completely dry after a shower or bath, including in between the toes. This can be done with a towel or even a blow dryer.
