What's the difference between a neck lift and deep neck lift? Posted August 11, 2011 8:53 AM in Deep Neck Lift
Question
Question Is a deep neck lift something different from just a neck lift? Can you explain what this is and what it treats?
Answer: A deep neck lift treats the structures under the platysma or central neck muscle. If patients are treated with just liposuction or just excision of fat above the platysma, it sometimes doesn’t correct the problem of deeper tissue and deeper fat. Also, some patients need repositioning or even excision of some portions of their submandibular gland for larger degrees of drooping or ptosis.
