What is Isolaz and is it effective?

Question:
I recently heard of something called Isolaz for acne. What is this and is it effective?

Answer:
Isolaz is a suction-type of laser device with a pulse light device inside it. We have one in the practice. We use it quite frequently for acne. It is very helpful for acne along with our 1319 lasers that we use in the practice.

I can’t get rid of my acne.

Question:
I’m a sophomore in college and since starting school last year I’ve had horrible acne. I’ve tried scrubs and cleansers and nothing’s helped. What else do you prescribe for acne and how quickly can I expect my acne to clear up?

Answer:

As acne is a multi factoral problem, patients need to come to the office and be evaluated to see what treatments they’ve had before. We often start with oral antibiotics or low prescription washes can work as well. We also have a number of laser therapies in the office that work for acne which are usually used for acne that does not respond to simpler techniques.
