The path to health and wellness includes healthy nutrition and appropriate supplementation. Getting started on the path to healthy nutrition is simple if you understand the basic concepts.
All nutrients that your body needs to sustain itself are available “naturally” on earth. Man-made foods such as refined carbohydrates and trans-fats have no purpose in the human body and are likely the root cause of most modern disease (ex: Type II Diabetes). Eat whole, unprocessed, naturally available foods and avoid the artificial foods that we have invented and you will be on your way. Pascal, our Nutrition Consultant, is always available for consultation to help guide you through the intricacies of healthy nutrition.
Nutrients (vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, antioxidants, co-factors, etc.) are vital to the proper functioning of our bodies. Unfortunately most of us are unable to maintain adequate or healthy levels of all the necessary nutrients simply from the foods that we eat. Even if you have a “healthy” diet, you may be deficient in certain nutrients due to soil depletion, food preparation methods, environmental contaminants, and many other reasons.
Appropriate supplementation can overcome these deficiencies in most individuals. There are some general supplements that we feel everyone should take (ex: Multivitamin/Multimineral replacement). Please ask for our list [Anne note: be sure we include a link to a list] of recommended supplements. Additional supplements can be used as needed for treatment and/or prevention based on clinical evaluation and appropriate testing. Issues such cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure abnormalities can frequently be addressed without drug therapy when appropriate diet and supplementation are used. We strongly urge you to use” Pharmaceutical Grade” supplements available through a physician! There is a significant amount of fraud in the Neutraceutical industry. This is the best way to insure you obtain a safe and effective product.
