Artefill® is an FDA-approved, non-resorbable wrinkle filler used for the correction of nasolabial folds (smile lines). Artefill® is made of microscopic spheres of poly-methyl-methacrylate mixed with purified bovine collagen. These microspheres are unique because, unlike other fillers, they are not absorbed by the body. Once injected, the collagen contained within Artefill® provides an initial plumping that is immediately visible. As the collagen is eventually absorbed by the body, the microspheres remain to provide the necessary support structure needed for long-lasting wrinkle correction. A skin test is required prior to treatment.

Artefill® is administered during a simple in-office procedure that takes just a few minutes to complete. Discomfort is minimal, though you may be given a local or topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort. Results are immediately visible with continued improvement occurring over the course of several months. As with any injectable, some minor swelling or redness may occur at the injection sight, but these side effects typically resolve within twenty-four hours. Most patients require just one to two treatments for optimal results. Results are permanent.
